Effective therapy involves helping to empower clients with tools to cope in certain situations in addition to insights and understandings about themselves, their lives and the nature of being that enable them to bring about more lasting change. Key to this change is the understanding that there are many things that happen to us in our lives that we can’t control but that it is ultimately how we choose to view the things that happen to us that is most important.
I see individual psychotherapy as a journey that the client and the therapist embark on together in order to facilitate change in the client’s life.
I am fully trained to apply different models of therapy based on the client’s needs. These models include Psychodynamic therapy, Person cantered Therapy and Cognitive behavioural therapy and integrative therapy.
Regardless of techniques , I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship plays a major role in helping the clients face their fears and their anger in order to integrate splits off parts so that they feel more integrated in themselves and free themselves from their past experiences.
Finally based on my personal as well as my academic and professional knowledge and experiences , I know and believe that regardless of where you are at in your life change is always possible given the right context and therapeutic work.
